End User License Agreement
Effective July 2026 · Steagus Publishing (a division of Steagus, LLC) ("Steagus," "we," "us")
This End User License Agreement is a legal agreement between you and Steagus governing your use of our software (the "Software"). By installing or using the Software, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
This agreement covers your use of the Software only. Where the Software is purchased, the purchase itself is handled by our payment provider acting as the Merchant of Record, under their own terms of sale. Nothing here changes those terms.
1. License grant
We grant you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software for your own use, as described in section 6 for the product concerned. The license is granted per person. You may install and use the Software on any computer that you own or control. The version you obtain is yours to keep and use for as long as you wish.
1a. Trial period
Where a product offers a trial, the trial is licensed to you on the same terms as this agreement for the length of the trial period stated for that product. A trial is provided free of charge, for evaluating the Software.
When the trial period ends, the Software does not delete anything and does not lock you out of your own data. Certain features stop being available until you enter a license key, and the features affected are stated for each product on its page. Your files and records remain on your computer and remain yours.
You may not attempt to extend, reset, or circumvent the trial period, and you may not use repeated trials in place of buying a license.
1b. License keys
A license key is issued to you and is personal to you. You may use it on the computers you own or control, as described above. You may not share, publish, resell, or transfer your license key, and you may not use a key you did not obtain from us or from our payment provider.
Your key is validated on your own computer. The Software does not contact us to check it.
If a key is shared or published, we may treat the license as terminated under section 10.
2. Ownership
You have a license to use the Software. Steagus retains all ownership of the Software itself, including its code, design, structure, and name, and all related intellectual property rights. Nothing in this agreement transfers ownership of the Software to you. The rights you have are the rights granted in this agreement, and all other rights are reserved by Steagus.
The Software includes third-party open-source components, which remain the property of their respective authors and are provided under their own license terms. Those terms continue to apply to those components, and nothing in this agreement limits any rights they grant you. A list of the components included and their licenses is available within the Software.
3. Permitted use and restrictions
You may use the Software for the business you own or operate, or for the personal use described for that product in section 6. You may not:
- redistribute, resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or lend the Software to any other person;
- publish or host the Software for others to download or use;
- repackage the Software or present it as your own product;
- decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer the Software, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits this despite this restriction; or
- remove or alter any copyright, authorship, or other notices contained in the Software.
4. Updates and future versions
From time to time we may release point updates that correct issues or make improvements. We may make these available to you at our discretion. We do not promise any particular update, release schedule, or new feature.
Major new versions of the Software are separate products. Owning your current version does not entitle you to a future major version. If we offer an upgrade to existing licensed owners, the terms and price of that upgrade will be stated at that time, and eligibility will be verified by your existing license key.
5. No warranty
The Software is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Steagus disclaims all warranties, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will meet your requirements.
6. Product-Specific Terms
The following terms apply to specific products. Where a subsection names a product, those terms apply to that product in addition to the rest of this agreement.
6a. Schedule C Expense Tracker
Schedule C Expense Tracker is a tool to help you record and organize business expense information. It is not tax advice, legal advice, or accounting advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional.
Steagus is not a tax preparer, accountant, attorney, or financial advisor. The Software does not file anything with any tax authority and does not guarantee that any entry, category, calculation, or report complies with the requirements of the Internal Revenue Service or any other authority. Tax rules change and vary by situation.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your records, for how you categorize and report your expenses, and for your tax filings. You should review your records with a qualified tax professional before relying on them for any filing or financial decision. You use the Software, and rely on its output, at your own risk.
6b. Theme Skinner
Theme Skinner is a free tool for creating visual themes, meaning colors and styling, for use with other Steagus software. It is a cosmetic tool. It does not access, modify, or store your expense records, financial data, or any other content belonging to the software it themes. Themes you create or apply are a matter of visual preference, applied at your own discretion. Theme Skinner is provided free of charge.
6c. Abisam
Abisam is a music library manager that reads and writes the audio files already on your computer. Tag edits, artwork changes, and organization changes are applied to your own files on disk, and some of those changes cannot be undone from within the Software.
You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. Abisam is not a backup tool and does not keep copies of your files. We strongly recommend having a current backup of your library before running any bulk tag write, artwork change, or other operation that affects many files at once.
Abisam can look up album and track information from third-party services such as MusicBrainz. That information is contributed and maintained by others. We do not control it, verify it, or guarantee that it is accurate or complete, and matches are suggestions for you to review before you apply them. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. Artwork and other material you import, embed, or apply may belong to someone else, and it is your responsibility to hold the rights to use it. You use the Software, and rely on its output, at your own risk.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Steagus will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, or business, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Software, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
For Software you purchased, the total liability of Steagus for any claim arising out of or related to the Software or this agreement will not exceed the amount you actually paid for it. For Software provided free of charge, Steagus has no liability to you for any such claim.
8. Privacy
Our handling of any information you provide to us is described in our Privacy Policy. The Software stores your data locally on your own device and does not send your records to us. Some features connect to third-party services when you ask them to, as described for that product in section 6. Please see the Privacy Policy for details.
9. Support
Support is provided at our discretion and may be limited. Where the Software was purchased, your proof of purchase or license key serves to verify your purchase when you request support. Your license to use the Software does not depend on receiving support and continues whether or not support is provided.
10. Termination
This license continues until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach its terms, including by redistributing or reselling the Software. On termination you must stop using the Software and remove your copies. The sections of this agreement concerning ownership, warranty, liability, and the terms in section 6 survive termination.
11. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
12. Entire agreement
This agreement is the entire agreement between you and Steagus regarding the Software and replaces any prior understanding on that subject. If any part of this agreement is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
